Elizabeth Lambert Cox Joins GDCR in Trust & Estates and Tax, and Business Transactions and Corporate Law practices

Elizabeth Lambert Cox has joined the firm as an Associate in GDCR’s Trust & Estates and Tax, and Business Transactions and Corporate Law practices. Ms. Cox provides individuals and families comprehensive legal counsel on tax, estate planning, and estate administration matters, as well as privately held businesses. She will be focused on providing clients with comprehensive advice and solutions to address their unique tax, estate planning, and administration issues.

To ensure that each client’s needs and wishes are met, Ms. Cox coordinates and develops estate plans that grow and evolve to best suit the needs of her clients over time.

Additionally, she provides legal assistance in the administration of decedents’ estates, including post-mortem planning solutions to mitigate the consequences of poor planning. Estate administration services are offered on a case-by-case basis, consisting of as little or as much professional assistance as the decedent’s family and personal representatives need or desire.
Ms. Cox also works with other attorneys in the firm’s Business Transactions and Corporate Law practice to design and implement tax-efficient business and investment structures and transactions.

During law school, she served as the Student Writing Editor of the Mercer Law Review, as an editor of the Journal of Southern Legal History, and was a member of the Mugel National Tax Moot Court competition team. She also published an article as a student in the Virginia Tax Review about the Internal Revenue Service, and its position on bitcoin and other virtual currencies.

Ms. Cox is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Fiduciary Law Section, State Bar of Georgia Taxation Law Section, and the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division. She was a member of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Leadership Academy Class of 2017, and the Northern District Representative for Council of Young Lawyers. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and the Mercer School of Law Young Alumni Council.

Ms. Cox graduated in 2012 from Wofford College cum laude with a B.A. in Finance and Government with a concentration in International Politics. She received her J.D. magna cum laude in 2015 from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and her Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016.
